Dayana Matasheva is an artist and writer based in New York. Her work uses performance, legal language, and bureaucratic structures to examine contemporary systems of compliance and extraction. Through controlled situations involving duration and consent, she investigates how identity is produced, exposed, or eroded under technological conditions.
Matasheva’s work has been presented in exhibitions, screenings, and festivals in Europe, North America, and Latin America. She is a 2025 Fulbright and a Women in Media Foundation/NCTA scholarship recipient. She studied philology and film and is currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Arts (Moving Image) at Columbia University. Dayana is 1/2 of Demonlovers Inc. with Edson Niebla.
